List of grounds on which a police officer may stop a vehicle:
▪️ if the driver has violated traffic rules;
▪️ if there are obvious signs indicating a technical malfunction of the vehicle;
▪️ if there is information that the driver or passengers of the vehicle are involved in a traffic accident, criminal or administrative offence, or information that the vehicle or its cargo may be the object or instrument of such an accident or offence;
▪️ if the vehicle is wanted;
▪️ if it is necessary to interview the driver or passengers about the circumstances of a traffic accident, criminal or administrative offence of which they are or may be witnesses;
▪️ if it is necessary to involve the driver in providing assistance to other road users or police officers, or as a witness when drawing up administrative offence reports or materials related to a traffic accident;
▪️ if a competent state authority has decided to restrict or prohibit traffic;
▪️ if the way the cargo is secured on the vehicle creates danger for other road users;
▪️ violation of the rules on the use of special light or sound signalling devices on the vehicle;
▪️ if a vehicle registered in another country is stopped in order to detect its transfer into possession, use or disposal by persons who did not bring this vehicle into the customs territory of Ukraine and did not place it under the customs transit regime;
▪️ if there is information that the driver or a passenger of the vehicle is a person who has unlawfully left a place of detention of prisoners of war.vash-yuryst+3
